Biochar is one of the most cost-effective and efficacious tools for environmental remediation. With multiple modalities, including direct toxin capture, enhanced phytoremediation through improved plant growth, and improved mycoremediation via increased fungal activity, our top-quality, remediation-grade biochar products are engineered to tackle specific environmental challenges.
We specialize in identifying the most effective toxin-adapted soil organisms for specific remediation applications and deploying them as biochar inoculants. Naturally adapted over decades in contaminated environments, these organisms act as powerful enhancers in remediation efforts. By introducing beneficial microorganisms, these inoculants significantly boost the effectiveness of biochar, accelerating the remediation process.
We conduct thorough site assessments to identify site-specific mycorrhizal fungi and their co-adapted host plants and trees. The collected organisms are cultivated in our lab, where we use DNA fingerprinting to map the interconnected soil ecosystem. This detailed understanding allows us to develop targeted inoculants, ensuring our remediation strategies are precisely tailored to the unique conditions of each site.
We offer a variety of laboratory services in our state-of-the-art facilities, including chemical analysis of contaminated soil and water, third-party biochar grading, customized mycology solutions, plant tissue culture for bioremediation-capable plants and trees, DNA fingerprinting to map interconnected soil ecosystems, and much more!
Our reforestation system has been shown to rapidly restore mature forests by densely planting a diverse mix of trees, shrubs, plants, and ground cover, all specially adapted to thrive in contaminated environments. Our lab-grown trees and plants are co-adapted to host mycorrhizal fungi, enhancing the phytoremediation process through mycoremediation. These plants and fungi create synergistic relationships that significantly accelerate the remediation process.
To ensure newly planted remediation forests are established successfully, our planting services include two years of ongoing care, such as temporary deer fencing and forest irrigation. Our integrated pest management protocols use beneficial insects and other biological controls, while our plant and fungi fertilizers are 100% organic. Our drone services include multispectral imaging for early pest detection and submersible drones to monitor waterway conditions near contaminated sites.
